Refresher Pool Session

Want to get back into diving?

If you are a certified diver and haven't been in the water for some time, it is advisable to do a Scuba Review Session before getting back in the water.

PADI Pool Briefing - 2 AcrossDepending on how long it has been and what experience you had before the break, you may need a Review Session after as little as six months. If it has been more than five years since you have dived, you should probably re-sit the open water course again, but it depends again, on your experience levels.

What is a Scuba Review?

We run over everything from equipment assembly and pre-dive safety checks, to buoyancy and out of air procedures. Also with plenty of time to swim around this will make you a lot more comfortable on your first dive in the sea.

When can I do the session?

You can do a private Scuba Review when you wish (as long as an Instructor is available). This will typically run for 1.5 - 2 hours.

Or you can join a Group Pool Session on one of our normal open water courses. These run on either the first Saturday or Sunday of a weekend course, or the Monday or Tuesday of any Daytime Course. Time is typically 10.30am - approx 2pm.

Click here to go to the "Openwater Course Scedule" to see dates.

PADI Gear Assembly - 2 AcrossHow much does it cost?

It costs $150pp for a private Scuba Review Session.

If you prefer to join one of our course groups in a pool session, the cost is $90pp.

What are the prerequisites?

The only prerequisite is that you must have proof of your certification and complete a medical questionnaire.

All you need to bring is your togs, towel, and your personal snorkelling equipment (mask, fins, snorkel, and boots) and a completed Dive Centre Ltd New Diver Medical Questionnaire

Everyone doing a dive course needs to complete a medical questionaire and we recommend doing that before booking onto the course.

When completing the medical questionaire, if the answer is no to all questions on page 1, you can just sign it and it’s done. (Unless the diver is less than 18 years old in which case a parent/guardian must sign as well).

If the answer is yes to any of the page 1 questions it guides you which sections to fill out on page 2 and you must get your normal Doctor (GP) to sign it off on page 3.

This medical is scuba diving specific and must be completed less than 12 months before starting your course.

The form that is used is available from our main store, or you can download it here in pdf format. Dive Centre Ltd New Diver Medical Questionnaire

If for any reason you fail the Medical, you will be refunded any course fees paid to us, as long as your PADI crew pack is undamaged, complete and you haven't written in the manual.

There is a list of Diving Doctors on the "Introduction page".

If it's been more than 10 years since you've dived, and you didn't do much diving before you took a break, we would recommend just joining one of our Open Water Courses to give yourself enough time to feel comfortable again, and get back into the sport safely.
