Maximum of 6 rock lobster (both species combined) on any one day.
Except Te Arai Point, Auckland to Cape Runaway where a total of 3 spiny rock lobsters can be taken, and the remainder (up to 6 in total) can be packhorse rock lobster. If no spiny rock lobsters are taken at the same time, 6 packhorse lobsters can be taken.
Rules changing in CRA2 area from 1 July 2020
Measure the tail width in a straight line between the tips of the two large (primary) spines on the second segment of the tail. If you are unsure of the sex, use the 60mm measurement.
Measure the tail length along the underside in a straight line from the rear of the calcified bar on the first segment to the tip of the middle fan of the tail. Must have a tail length of at least 216mm (male and female).
There are rules and protections for gathering rock lobster/crayfish that cover: protected types, gathering methods, pot construction and use.
From Te Arai Point, Auckland to Cape Runaway telson clipping is required for all recreationally harvested spiny rock lobsters. The last third of the telson (central part of the tail fan) must be cut off so that it is noticeably shorter than the other sections of the tail fan. This must be done to all legal spiny rock lobsters as soon as they are taken.

The Axiom i3 is our most comfortable and easy-to-use BC yet. It is a feature-rich, ADV style, wrap-around jacket that incorporates the innovative i3 inflation/deflation system (patented). The integrated Wrapture™ harness system (pat. pend.) allows you to stand up straight in total comfort while the cylinder remains perfectly vertical and pulled in close. Diving has never been this comfortable.
The GripLock™ tank band and buckle system makes its debut on the Axiom i3. This strong, secure system makes attachment to a cylinder easier than ever before. Gone are the days of complicated web weaving and you don't have to worry about pinching your fingers with the innovative finger saver feature (pat. pend.)

The Wrapture™ harness system, using the shoulder swivel buckles (patented) and a customized back plate, provides comfort and stability while preventing "ride-up" at the surface
The i3 Control System (patented) provides single touch control for inflation and deflation.
The low profile flat e-valves (pat. pend.) all open simultaneously when the i3 lever is depressed.
The GripLock™ tank band and buckle system provides security and easy change out of cylinders.
SureLock II weight pouches (patented) provide a simple, single-pull release. Loading is as simple as insert and "click".
Pull down oral inflator is easy to deploy, use and stow.
A bladder retraction system is used to pull in the sides of the bladder during deflation
An adjustable chest strap can be raised or lowered on a rail system.
A scooped octo-pocket on the top, front of the right lobe makes it easy to stow and deploy an octopus. The octopus remains visible and accessible throughout the dive.
Some divers may find it useful to run their instruments behind the left pocket and out the scooped opening on the top, front of the lobe.
Pocket within a pocket - A small security pocket is found on the flap of a larger drop-down pocket
Knife attachment points are found on the left lobe
Features 5 stainless steel D-rings and 2 plastic D-rings for all of your accessories.

Men are measured at waistline (widest part of waist), rather than normal beltline.
Waist size in men is normally measured by placing the measuring tape around the waist, cresting the pelvic bone. This measurement is not accurate for BC fitting.
The waist size in men should be measured at the height of the belly button just above the pelvic bone. Women's waist size is always measured just above the pelvic bone.
This same measurement applies for BC fitting.
Over The Shoulder (OTS) measurement is taken by placing the measuring tape across either the right or left shoulder and reading the distance between the top of the waist line on the back to the top of the waist line in the front.
Again, for this measurement in men the waistline is taken to be at the height of the belly button. When fitting the customer in their respective waist size and OTS range, inquire what thickness of wetsuit the BC is most likely to be worn with. Calculate about a 5cm allowance for the waist measurements for thick, cold water suits.
