Maximum of 6 rock lobster (both species combined) on any one day.
Except Te Arai Point, Auckland to Cape Runaway where a total of 3 spiny rock lobsters can be taken, and the remainder (up to 6 in total) can be packhorse rock lobster. If no spiny rock lobsters are taken at the same time, 6 packhorse lobsters can be taken.
Rules changing in CRA2 area from 1 July 2020
Measure the tail width in a straight line between the tips of the two large (primary) spines on the second segment of the tail. If you are unsure of the sex, use the 60mm measurement.
Measure the tail length along the underside in a straight line from the rear of the calcified bar on the first segment to the tip of the middle fan of the tail. Must have a tail length of at least 216mm (male and female).
There are rules and protections for gathering rock lobster/crayfish that cover: protected types, gathering methods, pot construction and use.
From Te Arai Point, Auckland to Cape Runaway telson clipping is required for all recreationally harvested spiny rock lobsters. The last third of the telson (central part of the tail fan) must be cut off so that it is noticeably shorter than the other sections of the tail fan. This must be done to all legal spiny rock lobsters as soon as they are taken.

Do not telson clip any packhorse rock lobsters.
Dive Computers are probably the most complicated piece of equipment you have to choose, if you have any questions about computers or any other piece of equipment, please phone us on 09 444 7698 during work hours, or email us now; we're here to help!
Console: A traditional "Combo Boot" or "Console" configuration where you have a High Pressure hose fitted to your first stage delivering air to a mechanical submersible pressure gauge (SPG) at the bottom of the boot, with a computer above and the ablitiy to add on a compass either behind the SPG (to keep it more streamlined), or on the end above the computer (so you can view the SPG, Computer and Compass all at the same time).
Air Integrated: Still attached with an HP Hose but instead of an SPG, you have a computer that not only shows your current air pressure as a digital readout (which is more accurate), but it also shows you how many minutes of air you have left, at your current breathing rate, at your current depth!
Air Integration is more of an advantage for shallow dives, not deep, because on shallow dives your air time becomes the limiting factor, so air integration is perfect for divers of all experience levels wanting peace of mind as well as get the benefits of a computer on both shallow and deep dives!
Air Integration takes all the guess work out of how long you have left on a normal shallow dive. You can see exactly how many minutes of air you have left to catch that last cray, or take those last few pictures, and be back at the surface with the correct reserve amount left in your cylinder! Plus they have audible alarms that sound when you get low on air which draws your attention when needed!
Hoseless Air Integrated: Just like it sounds, all the benefits of air integration above, with the added bonus of removing a hose from your regulator by installing a wireless air pressure transmitter instead! Wearing a watch sized or even a large display computer on your wrist is becoming the norm amongst divers wanting to streamline their equipment. If your gauges fall out and drag behind you, or like most people you find it much easier to read a computer on your wrist, going hoseless is a hugely popular way of configuring your equipment!
All items you purchase from us are assembled, safety checked and ready to dive before dispatching to you.
...are assembled in our service bay and fully checked to make sure they are ready to dive and medium pressure is exactly at the manufacturers recommeded seting. Alternate Air Sources and Computers/Gauges are fit and checked and ready to dive.
...have time, date, and normal air dive parameters set so you know your computer is ready to dive straight away. This means you can spend minimal time setting them up and is done for customer service, your safety and convenience. However, if you wish us to leave the computer in it's default state, please note this on the sales screen when finalising your sale.
...are tested to ensure all valves are the correct torque settings and the inflator systems and dump valves are all operating perfectly. Our aim is to make sure this equipment is ready to dive as soon as you unpack it. If you have any questions about your newly arrived equipment, or indeed anything else, please phone us on +64 9 444 7698 seven days, we are here to help!
If you buy a BCD on it's own, it will come with the inflator hose that should be fit to your existing Regulator. This hose is the correct length for you new BCD size, and you should always remove your old inflator hose and replace it with the new one. This ensures the hose isn't too long and getting caught on rocks and kelp, or too short and pulling the inflator out of position making it harder to find when you need it. If you can't send your Regulator to us to fit the inflator hose, we recommend you take it to a local dive service agent to have them fit it for you.
